  • Time to go...

I have decided to go from an extended leave of Xanga and now I'm back just to tell the few followers that read this that likely I won't be back, as I have created a new blog over at tubmlr.

Feel free to look me up: http://princesssparklies.tumblr.com/

    Happy blogging folks,

  • Hi strangers

I've come back to Xanga after a very, very long hiatus.

Life has been good, however very busy.

Newest stuff in no particular order:
    • I graduated with my associate's degree!
    • I took the summer off of school, which I enjoyed immensely!
    • I have moved on to a different school and I'm now pursuing my bachelor's degree!
    • Marie and I have celebrated one year of marriage (legal wedding, in Boston) this past June.
    • We have another anniversary in October, when we did our big celebration with our friends and family.
    • I'm really excited for the future, we have a lot of things in the works...
    • We've done a bit of traveling since I have been here last.. Tampa, Orlando, Vero Beach, Boston, New York, Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland
    • Marie finally met my mom (which I was very nervous about) but it went really well....
    • Marie also has started back to school (both as a teacher and as a student) to get some additional credits and further her ability to teach on the college level.
    • I got to show Marie my home town and my child hood home, which was almost surreal.
    • Being back in Maryland, after nearly 4 years was a really bizarre, but great experience.
    • In September, I will have been with my current company for a year, which is weird because it so does not seem that long ago.
    • I've started getting gray hair! This has not been something I'm really willing to admit to or deal with totally yet, but I must say mother nature has a cruel sense of humor! (Damn it, I'm not THAT old!)
I think that is all I have for now kids, peace and good night!

  • 2010, where'd you go?

I realize that I haven't been on here in months and months! Well I guess I need to start with and update.....

Our group went to New York in September and we had a blast. Also in September right before going to New York, I got hired on with a large consultant company working for a HUGE technology company supporting their products. Having this particular company on my resume is a really big deal... also this is giving me experience with a particular series of applications and hardware that I have never supported before, so new skills are good. One of the cool things about the job, is that I get to work from home.

I'm still going to school, as a matter of fact I'm even closer to finishing this degree program. I have 6 classes left before I finish! I'm excited and I'm already trying to figure out what my next step is regarding furthering my career and how that relates to what I'm currently doing.

In October we had our formal wedding with the friends and family present, which was a beautiful and amazing night. It was awesome to have people that really care and respect our marriage at our ceremony. It was small, intimate and so much more then I could have ever dreamed of. I can't believe how quickly the day went by! I was a little nervous, but overall I was pretty calm and collected. My friend Autumn did my makeup and Diana did my hair, at first glance I barely recognized myself after the whole hair and makeup process was completed. I guess that's good right? (LOL) I don't think I have ever been complimented so much in my whole life, as I was on that night. Take a look below:

The only weird or somewhat negative thing about the night, was that someone forgot to shut off their phone while we where saying our vows and a song started playing (a beautiful one, but still....) I didn't want any music going over top of what I was saying, but it was playing the entire time I was saying my vows. Thank God there is a video of the ceremony and we hopefully can cut out the 'extra audio' that was included....

  • New York...

For my readers that are anywhere near New York or New Jersey or have ever been in that area.

Is there anything that you would recommend as a "must see" or "must do" kind of event, restaurants, shopping, museums, & etc that a tourist that has never been to that area should see?  It does not have to be a "tourist trap" kind of place. Open to suggestions....

I will be there in September and wanted to make sure I didn't miss something really cool that I should try to experience.

    Many thanks!

  • Sappy love, work and school...

I noticed I haven't posted since my Boston trip and I wanted to give y'all and update on what the latest is! (Yes, I said y'all.. lol) We've been doing some traveling....We recently have spent some time in Orlando, Tampa and Key West. Our next big trip is in September when we go to New York.

I'm a happily, legally married woman! I almost never thought I would ever utter words such as that ever again... Those that have read my blog for a long time, know that I was previously married & divorced someone else about seven years ago. Anyways, I digress..

I have to say that I'm a happy camper. I have a spouse that makes me laugh every day, even when we get cranky or tired we still let each other know how much we care about each other. I love how thoughtful she is, how caring, sensitive and attentive to my needs. I guess, I finally "get it".. this is what partnership and commitment, is really about.

I have dated and had many relationships with other people before I met her and I have to say I just didn't have that same level of a relationship before. I guess I'm just astounded at how happy my life has become with the addition of my spouse! Maybe that makes me a big freaking sap, but it is true.. every word. (Babe, if you ever read this know you are loved so very much!) Ok... ok.. enough of the gushing about my new wife...

On to other news.... I got my two grades back from my last two classes.... And yes.. I got two more A's! Who knew that *I* would actually get an A in Biology.. who knew! I have two new classes that started last Monday, so trying to see if I can do a repeat performance in these two classes. I'm hoping that won't be too hard but I'm back in Algebra..Oh yes.. I get to do that again.. Oh the joys of college level courses.. Math hasn't been my forte, but the joys of marrying a math teacher has it's advantages! (Can you say built in math tutor?)

In addition to the two A's, my GPA also jumped up 6 points! So that brings me from a 3.75 to a 3.81!  I also noticed that I'm 30 credits into my 62 credit program! I have officially hit the half way point, which is exciting and challenging all that once. I still am so surprised how fast this program has gone.. Whoa.. time flies!

On the job front, I'm still not working, but I have a couple of jobs possibly on the horizon, but I'm still in a holding pattern at this point. I had a second interview with a local company, but I haven't heard back since the interview. I've sent a follow up email, but I haven't gotten a response. I'm not sure just what that means, but I'm trying to remain hopeful.... I have another job that I got a call about and I was told that they where sending my resume to their client, so I'm waiting to see what will happen next. In the meanwhile, I'm still applying to other jobs, seeing what happens next and collecting my unemployment check for as long as I can.

For now, this is all I've got!

Have a good week folks, I'm going to Disney this weekend!

Tori Amos is about the coolest person. She's really raised awareness and helped a lot of people out. I love her. And your grandma sounds like a strong person, a real survivor.
