  • Still waiting....

So I heard from the recruiter on friday and he told me that he still didn't have an answer as to what the deal was, because the decision maker (the ceo) has been unavailable due to a personal matter. He went on to tell me that he "needed a couple more days" to give me a "final answer". So I am still waiting!!!!

That said, I have still continued to apply elsewhere & I have an appointment with the Census Bureau on Friday to take the placement test. They are looking for people to help with the 2010 Census, so I figure, hey why not?! They are having people go into their own communities and take the census, which sounds pretty interesting to me... That said, it does not start until after the new year, so if nothing else, maybe I can do that for a while....

I still have not heard back from my applications to the local school board or the school that I attend for the job I applied for, and I have not gotten the "rejection email / letter" that they said people would get if they didn't get called back for the second round. Though I did get a lead on a particular job, and i called about it today & she said she would forward my resume to her boss. I also called a list of agencies that a friend of mine was using to get some part time work. Currently they don't have anything, but i sent them my resume, so I guess we'll see what gives.

I'm fine with doing seasonal work, of some sort, at least that would allow me to have some Christmas money to buy for my friends/family. I'm working on that angle to see if something comes there.

Well I guess that is all for now folks!

  • Waiting...

Still waiting on all of the final details about the job, I'm still applying at a couple more jobs, just in case...
I have kinda been down this road before, so trying to be prepared either way.

I was told that I should know something by Friday by the close of business at the latest, so for now all I can do is wait it out and see what happens...

I still have not heard anything back in reference to the Saturday interview or the applications that I submitted for the school board.

Well folks this is all I have for now...

  • A Job!!

Today I got a call from the place that I interviewed with on Friday, offering me the position that I interviewed for, I still have yet to hear anything back from the school or school board that I have applied to.

I'm stoked about having a job again, YAY, I'll actually have money again! (LOL)
I'm waiting on all of the final details, but they have started the paperwork on their side, so I'm waiting on my "offer letter" but otherwise it should be a done deal.

I know I will miss the freedom that I have had in the last month or so, not having to be somewhere at a certain time. Being able to sleep in if I want to & being able to take off and have lunch with my hunny whenever I want...

I also realize the consequences of not being employed, not having money, adding additional stressors on my hunny who has been having to float everything since I have not been able to "financially contribute". This is the first time in my adult life I actually have had the chance to actually "chill" a little and for that I'm eternally grateful for everything that my hunny has done for me. Thank You baby, you totally rock.

Otherwise everything else is good. We have done a lot of organizing and purging. That mainly started over the weekend, when the girls and I started rearranging the house & moving the stuff out to the garage that salvation army came today to get. The house is looking awesome and has a better energy! All good stuff.

School is moving along, already in my 3rd week of my 9 week block. Damn time has been flying by! Oh, did I mention that I got two A's in my last two classes?

Can you believe that Christmas is 53 days away?
Where in the hell did this year go?

Well folks, that is all I have for now!

  • Two Interviews!

The last two days have been interesting...

Yesterday afternoon I had a interview for an IT position for a small software company.
The interview was over 2 and a half hours, I met with 4 different people within the company.

The position sounds promising, but I left not really knowing where I stood.
The 1st person I met with was the last person to see me off.
He said that everyone liked me & that they have a "couple more interviews" and that they would get back to me by next week.

    The second interview was today...
This one is for the school that I'm currently attending, they are looking for a financial counselor. It's not something that I have ever done before, but I have a customer service background among other things.
That combined with the fact that I know someone that works there and I believe that is what helped me secure the interview.

This interview was the different then any other that I have ever had before. There where 9 of us that were all vying for the same position. They had all of the candidates in the same room, we had to do some role plays and then they broke us into teams & we had to come up with something on a particular topic, then present to the group.

With this one, I will get a call if they want me for the second set of interviews, if not I will get a letter in the mail.
They said we should get a call by the end of next week, if we have been chosen.

So I'm hoping something comes of this, but I guess we shall see.

I'm going with the idea, that if it's meant to be then it will be. So I guess with some time, I'll find out..

Well I guess that's all that I have for now.

  • Nature Ride...

Yesterday the hunny and I went to Shark Valley and we did a 15 mile bike ride.
Of course when out in the Everglades, you might expect that you would run into a bit of nature eh?

On this ride, we saw two gators, one that happened to turn around and haul ass as soon as he caught the sight of us on our bikes, which I thought was pretty funny. We also came across a bunch of birds and towards the end of the ride a small snake was crossing the path.

We hit a lot of crosswinds during the ride, so the first part of the ride was really tough, but the weather remained nice and didn't rain, so we where appreciative of that!

The job search still continues, but I have a couple of "hot leads"! So that is promising!
My friend KK works for the same school that I'm attending currently and I applied for the Financial Counselor position, and she was able to reach out to the hiring manager, which helped me secure a meeting on Saturday with the other hopefuls for the position. So I am excited to see what comes of that.

I also am applying to the local public school board, since they have a couple of IT positions available. If by "worst case scenario" that I have more then one job to choose from, that would be amazing!! Of course it certainly does not hurt that I know people that work for this same organization and either of the positions could be a situation, that once I'm into them, I could do something else for them later on once I complete my schooling (and possibly retire from, much later on...)

Also the good thing is, if I can get into the Financial Counselor position, I could get FREE tuition to the school, which is invaluable!!!

Well I will keep you guys posted on this!

Tori Amos is about the coolest person. She's really raised awareness and helped a lot of people out. I love her. And your grandma sounds like a strong person, a real survivor.
